Care Delivery
The Eden Alternative
The Eden Alternative is well-known for its original mission to transform the organizational culture of nursing homes and other institutional settings. A.G. Rhodes embraces and uses The Eden Alternative education, which equips our employees with the knowledge and tools to deliver more person-directed care. Our communities are on the Eden Registry, a directory of providers that have taken in-depth steps to prove that they are committed to person-directed care. A.G. Rhodes is the first standalone nursing home organization in the state with this distinction.

Academic Partnerships
Through partnerships with educational institutions, we explore new ways to deliver compassionate, evidence-informed care, and to help shape the next generation of caregivers.
Georgia Tech
A.G. Rhodes has partnered with Georgia Tech’s SimTigrate Design Center to launch the Design for Health Collaborative, an initiative that brings together students, researchers, residents, and staff to explore how environments can support health, wellness, and connection for older adults. Georgia State
A.G. Rhodes has teamed up with Georgia State University’s Gerontology Institute on a partnership to tackle critical workforce shortages in elder care. This collaboration, known as Scholars With A.G. Rhodes at GSU (SWAGR @ GSU), offers master’s degree students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in long-term care settings while completing their graduate training in gerontology. Medical Affiliations
Emory
Emory Healthcare provides some services for residents and patients at our Wesley Woods home, which is located on Emory’s Wesley Woods campus. The Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner and Geriatric Fellows at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods are employed by Emory, and other services including pastoral and podiatry services are also provided by Emory.
WellStar Health System
A.G. Rhodes has a formal affiliation agreement with WellStar Health System. At at our Cobb location, a WellStar Medical Director and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner provide onsite medical services. This partnership helps to foster a seamless continuum of care between inpatient and post-acute services.
Association Memberships
American Health Care Association
A.G. Rhodes is a member of the American Health Care Association (AHCA), which represents the long-term care community to the nation at large – to government, business leaders and the general public.
Georgia Health Care Association
The Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) is an association of skilled nursing facilities including A.G. Rhodes, assisted living centers, and home and community-based case managers. GHCA represents the interests of patients, residents, and consumers as well as owners, administrators, and others.
LeadingAge & LeadingAge Georgia
A.G. Rhodes is a member of LeadingAge, which is an association of 6,000 nonprofit organizations dedicated to making America a better place to grow old. The organization advances policies, conducts research, and promotes practices that support, enable and empower people to live fully as they age. A.G. Rhodes is also a member of LeadingAge Georgia, which supports nonprofit and other mission-driven organizations that are dedicated to providing quality housing, healthcare and community-based services for Georgia’s seniors. The organization’s Center for Positive Aging is a source for information regarding products, services, programs, and housing options for older adults.
State/Local Organizations
Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC)
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the 10-county metro Atlanta area including Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties, as well as the City of Atlanta. As the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), the ARC also plans and provides comprehensive services to address the needs of the region’s older population.
Cobb County Chamber of Commerce
A.G. Rhodes is a member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, a business advocacy organization in Georgia and one of the top three chambers in the nation.
Culture Change Network of Georgia
The Culture Change Network of Georgia (CCNG) is a group of dedicated supporters and stakeholders—including A.G. Rhodes—working as partners to promote and foster culture change to improve the quality of life for older Georgians in all settings where aging services are delivered.
