We have a place in our hearts - and our homes - for volunteers.
By volunteering with A.G. Rhodes, you’ll have the opportunity to give back to your community and the seniors who’ve contributed so much to our lives. Whether it’s visiting one-on-one with residents or participating in group activities, you’ll find that we offer many volunteer opportunities that will make a lasting difference in your life – and in the lives of those we serve.
We have volunteer opportunities at all three of our homes during the week and on weekends, can accommodate volunteers of all ages, and welcome individual or group volunteers.
Because of the at-risk population we serve, and the ongoing risks posed by COVID-19, there are strict requirements for volunteering with A.G. Rhodes.
General requirements for volunteering with A.G. Rhodes include:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Pass a fingerprint background check
- Receive a tuberculosis (TB) screening
- Follow all COVID safety protocols in place at the time you volunteer
- Be up to date on all COVID-19 vaccines for which you are eligible
- Youth volunteers 14 or younger must have adult supervision while volunteering
The accompanying adult must also complete the above requirements
Specific requirements will be based on whether you’re an individual volunteer or if you’re volunteering with a group, under or over 18 years old, the nature of your volunteer activity, and how frequently you would like to volunteer. We want to be as flexible as possible in accommodating volunteers but also keep our residents safe.
Individual volunteers who would like to volunteer on a regular basis are asked to make a minimum six-month commitment. This helps cover the cost of the fingerprint background check and TB screening. This consistency is also key to developing meaningful relationships with our residents – and building trust among our staff.
Please complete the volunteer application first so we can evaluate your information, interests and availability, and then we can send you appropriate next steps.
To ensure your information will be saved, it is suggested that you first save the blank form to your device before typing, then reopen the form and fill in the fields.
