Living Well - Virtual 2022
Dementia Care Through Every Stage
The Board of Advisors of A.G. Rhodes was proud to once again host its acclaimed annual Living Well event, which was held virtually this year on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Our featured speaker, Dr. Lea C. Watson, board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist, presented Dementia Care Through Every Stage: 10 Ways to Nurture Compassionate, Dignified, Individualized Care.
Watch the event recording here.
Proceeds from the event benefit the A.G. Rhodes Care Partners Scholarship Fund, which provides assistance in further education and training opportunities for our staff.
Speaker:
Dr. Lea C. Watson is a board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist with a passion for creating a culture of appropriate psychotropic prescribing in long-term care settings. She prioritizes common sense, avoiding harms, and keeping the patient’s and family’s goals of care at the heart of all endeavors.
Because of the shortage of geriatric psychiatrists in the United States, she developed a model of consultation and training to extend the reach of this highly needed, but limited specialty to the people that need it most – the primary care providers responsible for care, and families.
Dr. Watson is a published author, popular speaker, and a recipient of numerous awards for research and teaching.
About the Event:
Each year, the A.G. Rhodes Board of Advisors hosts its signature Living Well Fundraiser to advance information about healthcare related to the elderly and to benefit the well-being of the residents we serve. This event brings together business leaders, partners and supporters to hear speakers present on important aging-related issues that impact our community.
Supporters of the event help us fulfill our mission to serve older adults in our community, particularly those who lack adequate resources for the high-quality care we afford everyone who stays with us. Over the now seven years that we’ve held this annual event, we’ve featured speakers known throughout the nation and raised funds for important initiatives that greatly enhance the quality of life for our residents. Proceeds from the event go towards the A.G. Rhodes Care Partners Scholarship Fund, which provides assistance in further education and training opportunities for our staff.
