We are so excited to raise funds this year for one of our residents' favorite programs, Horticultural Therapy and Seeds for Seniors! Horticultural Therapy isn’t just gardening – it’s an evidence-based therapy that improves quality of life, nurtures growth, and brings healing and happiness to our nursing home residents. We are incredibly fortunate to have one of the largest and most comprehensive Horticultural Therapy programs in long-term care in the state - and, in our opinion, the best Horticultural Therapist in Kirk Hines! Kirk uses nature-based activities that support physical rehabilitation and improve mood, memory, and cognitive function. Activities such as planting, digging, and weeding are both therapeutic and fun. For residents living with dementia or limited mobility, Horticultural Therapy provides purpose, reduces anxiety, and sparks joy.
