The Epitome of Caring
Employee Spotlight: Emmanuel Louis, Environmental Services, A.G. Rhodes Cobb
Though he’s only been at A.G. Rhodes Cobb for a few months, Emmanuel Louis has made a big impact.
“Emmanuel is the epitome of caring,” said Administrator Loretta Barnes. “He works in Environmental Services, however, he will assist when and where needed with a smile.”
Just eight short months ago, 30-year-old Emmanuel left his home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to seek opportunities in the United States. In October he started working at A.G. Rhodes.
“I enjoy the collaborative environment of my workplace,” he said. “Working with supportive colleagues who make you feel appreciated also makes each day enjoyable.”
And Emmanuel’s colleagues do appreciate him. Loretta said when she and her team discussed who to recognize for December’s employee spotlight, it was a unanimous decision.
“When asked in our morning meeting who we should highlight, everyone agreed that it should be Emmanuel.”
Emmanuel didn’t have experience working around older adults prior to this position, but he says he enjoys it.
“I like working with elders because it gives me a lot of pleasure to help them.”
Emmanuel eventually plans to go to technical school and take classes to become a mechanic.
“Mechanics is my passion. I like repairing cars and I want to have a diploma in mechanics.”
In the meantime, Loretta says she is grateful that Emmanuel chose to join the A.G. Rhodes team.
“He is kind, courteous and hardworking.”
