Staff from A.G. Rhodes of Atlanta teamed up with Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for its fourth annual “Garage Sale with a Twist” on September 28. What was the twist? Everything was free! Clothes, shoes, furniture and more were all available to members in the community who came by. Non-perishable canned goods were also collected.
This was the first year that A.G. Rhodes officially partnered with the church, and staff collected many of the items that were donated at the garage sale.
“A.G. Rhodes and Mount Pleasant make a great team,” said Kimberly Chaffin, an A.G. Rhodes employee and Mount Pleasant church member who was a key organizer of the event. “We worked together to help people in the community who needed a few extra items, whether it be a baby crib or a sweater.”
In addition to this event, members from Mount Pleasant frequently volunteer at A.G. Rhodes of Atlanta, holding church services and participating in other activities.
“We all have a commitment to serving those in our community,” said Chaffin. “It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we form a partnership.”
